Anyone know if anyone in the Packard Club might be interested in a 160?

  • Anyone know if anyone in the Packard Club might be interested in a 160?

    Found this on Craigslist:

Not mine not interested but I did not know this car was in town. Seems based on condition that the price is high but what do I know about a prewar Packard 160.

1941 Packard 160 7 passenger sedan. 3,525 1941 160's were assembled, but there's no breakdown inre to body style.

The pictured 'Pelican' hood ornament is a gypo, probably from J.C. Whitney.

The 1941/42 Packard 110/120/160/180 Pelican was mounted on a very narrow base, so it is different than any other pre-war Pelican ornament.

The two Fleur de Lis emblems were never installed on any Packard.

This Packard is as rough as a cob, will cost more to restore than it's worth.

It would make a good project for re-body into a phaeton. Not much market for large closed body cars of the 40s. (or any year for that matter) they are just too big in todays driving conditions.
