  • Body / Glass: rear valance

It would be most appreciated if someone could send me some pix of the rear of a C body with the rear bumper off. I am particularly interested in the attachment points for the rear valance and the thin curved strip below the trunk opening. Thanks.

I'am sure it is the same as my Gt and it is held on with sheet metal screws to the panel below the trunk.

Everything in the lower, rear of the C & K Bodes changed when the Bumpers were changed (made taller) in 1955, so a '53-'54 will not even be close to the same, which do you have?

'53 is different than '54, '54 different than '55, etc.

ID:	1717970Here is the rear of my 54 hope this helps. The top component is held with sheet metal screws. If you look real close you will see the screw holes, there are about four screws.

The outside flanges screw in to the fender.

Other than the shape of the panels they are very close to the gt's and are held on to the same part of the body in the same way.

The only real difference between the lowermost panel on our '53 coupe and '62 GT is the exhaust cutouts in the GT panel.

Fyi the 53s had a very simple sheet metal panel bent at about 120 degrees as opposed to the VERY DIFFERENT panels shown in the earlier posts

It looks like yours is a sedan and the upper piece is very different from the one for my coupe. Mine does not have those "bat wings" at the extremities. The pictures do help a lot however and I thank you for taking the time to send them.
