This one was based upon a rendering of Brook Stevens. I find it very nice.

Once you start customizing to suit our own tastes, you risk not finding the same tastes in any buyer. Never was a lead sled Kustom Kemps fan. He should advertise with them for a more appreciative market audience.

I like most of it. To me, from some angles it has a Rolls Royce look. The Packard wheelcovers bring it part way upscale. From the pictures, the body work looks good. I guess the car got a model name change at the time of customization. I was disappointed that the interior wasn't brought up to the level of the exterior.

Not very much into Kustoms myself, but it seems a nice build.
Nice car. It's not ruined and I'd drive it if it were priced right. Also worth remembering at today's pro shop prices, one could not take a typical east-of-the-Mississippi rust bucket to that level of finish for the $18,500 asking
"Reportedly" might bring to question if any documentation exists; if it does, better to provide it and prospective buyers will take that into valuation. The extentsive body modifications where reportedly done from a rendering done by Brooks Stevens who was very involved in the design of the G.T. hawk; and customised by a follower of his work; "Beansie" Bernardo, a famous East Coast customiser,

Hard to improve upon the redesign of the original hard to improve upon design.
My question is why didn't the kustomizer do something with that upright grille? It's just begging to be modified or changed in my opinion. It doesn't fit the cleaned-up lines of the car.

This I think was for sale a couple years ago. I think even the same pictures. Not bad but as said hard to improve on the basic design. Make someone a nice diver if a custom fit the bill.
See Raymond Lowey's MAYA -or “Most Advanced. Yet Acceptable.” Loewy sought to give his users the most advanced design, but not more advanced than what they were able to accept and embrace. Loewy believed that:
"The adult public's taste is not necessarily ready to accept the logical solutions to their requirements if the solution implies too vast a departure from what they have been conditioned into accepting as the norm."

Looks classy, kinda more of a Facel Vega than a Rolls Royce, to me that is...

And that's a good thing. LOVE the look of most Facel Vegas....Looks classy, kinda more of a Facel Vega than a Rolls Royce, to me that is...

I'd love to have that car, and would drive it with pride.
I quite like the car. None of the customizing is at odds with the general theme of the car. The descriptive text in the ad is rife with spelling and grammar mistakes, though.

Here is the original design by Brooks Stevens (at the bottom).
I wonder which one was the first.

Don't you just hate it when someone posts a picture from their computer as a thumbnail and you click on lt and the enlarged picture is almost the same size as the thumbnail?
Especially if you are reading the forum on your phone.

That's easy. Facel Vega designs are from the late 50's...Here is the original design by Brooks Stevens (at the bottom).

Sorry, Jerry. I tried to post it full size but did not succeed.

Nice day to all.
The very first FV (1954) already had a similar style.
I just thought that Brook Stevens might have used Marchal Megalux headlights before Facel Vega. But, ... I've just checked and Facel used them since 1960. So it seems that the initial inspiration came from Jean Daninos.
I can't help wondering how this would've turned out if I hadn't mentioned the Facel Vega & Rolls Royce would be the subject now...

Alas, "nicely done" or not, none of these quad headlight C-K's just don't do it for me.
By the way, didn't we discuss one a few years ago that used non-hide-a-way headlights from a 1963-66 Rivera?
An interesting concept to be sure but, like skyway over here, I just can't quite get behind it. Maybe if the paintwork better matched Packard's roots more instead of Rolls-Royce's my sentiment would change but for now it is a no go.
