  • Grandpas 55 Commander

Got my Grandpas 55 Commander back on the road. Found the original bill of sale and owners manual too.
Getting things sorted out mechanically-runs and drives pretty nice. Now for the interior.
Got a lot to learn but looking forward to putting some miles on...

That looks like a great car, and even better since it belonged to your Grandfather!

      Nice car!
Out of curiosity, does the BoS show a trade in? If so what?

Nice Commander Sedan, it's a 55 1/2 Model "Ultra Visa" with the Wraparound Windshield.
It has some interesting Chrome Blades added on top of the Front Fenders, either Aftermarket (J.C. Whitney) or some other Make.

No trade-in but he had a 53 Commander before the 55. The dealer was in Maplewood Mo. Paid $1,050 back in the day.

I had assumed that he bought it new. I guess that it was a fairly new used car. The base price of a new 1955 Commander was about $2000.
