  • Electrical: 1950 Starter Switch Clutch Pedal Mystery Part?

About half the Studebakers I've seen lately have an extra flat metal bar under the round clutch pedal pad, so the bar pushes against the starter switch.
The other half don't have the short metal flat bar, and the pedal pad itself presses against the starter switch.
Does anyone know why some have the metal bar and some don't?
    Thanks, Tom

Well, I know it is listed for all stick shift cars 1951-54. What does your 1950 chassis book say?
It is a separate part and could have been lost when the pedal pad was removed at some point. Also they can rotate out of position if the pedal has been loosened and you may not see it looking into the car.

That is right, all '47 to '54's have a small, flat metal plate locked under the Clutch Pedal Pad screw.

I have never seen one with a "Bar" there.
