FYI: Chevrolet had the Borg Warner T-10 4 Speed in 1961, and Ford had them in 1962.

This Ford Case availability allowed the '63 and '64 Studes. to use the Standard Stude. 3 Speed Clutch Housing that Studebaker Cast to mount it, instead of the weird, "Special" Chevy Case bolt pattern Clutch Housing that HAD to be used on '61 Hawks & All '62's.

Hey Rich , I understand the different bellhousing patterns on the Stude 4 spds, But didn't chevy start using the T10 on the 57 Vettes?

Maybe so, I only know about CARS! As in Impala SS 409's, BelAires etc.!

From what I've read, 1961 was the first 4-speed Lark. Never seen one, though.

Available on 1961 Hawk, not Lark.

Very timely thread! I just bought a '60 Lark, 259, 3 speed T86 E-1T stick shift trans; Will any of the later Stude 4 speeds be a direct bolt in with my clutch & bell housing? If so, what years & models? I would really like a 4 speed! Thanks in advance! DAN

I used a muncie m20 but you will need something more stude specific. I probably should have been more clear, My lark has a 327 chevy engine in it. Hoping StudeRich will chime in he's a wealth of stude interchange info
