    My Jaguar in a Studebaker Forum - right

    This is my recent picked up car : a 56 Jaguar XK 140 DHC (drop head coupe).

    I just found out that Raymond Loewy in 1955 also designed a car based on a Jaguar XK 140 :

    I don't think Raymond improved the looks of the Jag XK140.

    I love a xk 120. Loewy's version is the least good looking thing his studio ever did, though it has good general lines the hood is just wrong!

    Alas, he hardly EVER seemed to have improved an existing car.
    Thinking here of that late '50's Caddy that was for sale a few years ago, and some others.

    His automobile work (and yes, I know this was largely Bourke et al, and the Palm Springs Avanti team) for Studebaker may have been his best?

    Probably not in the countries where most of them were sold!

    I would need to see the statistics on that. A lot of them were exported from England to countries that used left hand drive, primarily the USA.

    I may have been overly eager, in expressing my assumption? If I only keep my assumptions to myself, will anyone else help me see their true error or validity? It would also be to my benefit, if I had some statistics?

    No doubt, many were exported to countries that used left hand drive? In 56, wouldn't most of them have been so equipped? Would they have been a majority of the total production? That wasn't my first assumption, but my first assumptions aren't always right? What ever the case, the steering wheel is where it is and I don't think any thing about it is either right or wrong? It just is!

    I agree that the XK120-150 was much better looking than the Loewy redesign. If money were no object an XK150 would be in my driveway (with a stock body).
