  • Engine: Arrangement of pulleys and balancer on ohv 6 with alternator and Power steering

I'm mocking up the power steering and alternator on my spare ohv six for future use on a often interupted Champ project. Most of this stuff I can figure out looking at he shop manual or the parts book BUT I am not sure of the arrangement of the pulleys for the alternator or the power steering (using a saginaw gearbox).

On the standard ohv six the drive pulley for the alternator is behind the balancer but where would I place the drive pulley for the power steering? Would it go in front of the balancer so I have a pulley, balancer, pulley arrangement or do all pulleys go behind the balancer or...???

I have an NOS hub for 63/64 sixes with alt and ps, extra pulleys and hardware but the manuals only show multiple pulleys on the V8 application.

    thanks,

    Jeff T.

Yes, the P/S pulley goes in front of the vibration damper. You can buy a copy of the installation instructions here:
