ID:	1755325First off, thanks in advance for any responses.

Out traversing our state I came across a balled up piece of steel...apparently placed years ago in a creek to help hold the bank. In looking thru it I found a Studebaker serial plate attached to steel. The serial number is: 8156491. Can someone tell me what this came from? Only for my own curiosity at this point.

Looks like it has a door striker on it, first guess is a door jamb from a 19-- Studebaker. Someone else will tell us what year it was from.

Whatever it was seems originally intended for export. Likely came with metric instruments and Spanish owner's books. Recall similar on a '46 Lincoln originally sold by a dealer in Michoacan MX.

It's a '51 Commander from the South Bend plant. The dual language serial number plates were standard in those days.

Dwain's gotta be right. Everything on that tag is in both languages. Wrong (again).
