  • Body / Glass: Door molding

My 64 Daytona convertible has pot-metal moldings that sit on top of each door. Mine are a bit tired and I'm thinking about removing them and having them re-chromed. I have heard that molding breaks easily and I see no obvious screws that attach it so I assume it is held on with clips. Has anyone ever removed it? Any tips/steps for removing it safely?

    Any help appreciated.

The door belt mouldings are hard to find, but not impossible, as they are shared with the 64 J hardtops. The long rear quarter mouldings were unique to the 64 convertibles and are extremely hard to find. They each have some small screws that are accessible by removing the interior door/quarter panels, running the window down a bit, and removing the window fuzzies. Requires removing the lower window stop. The rear convertible mouldings also are held on by the snap studs. And yes, they can be very brittle.
