Although I'll probably get the "look" from the wife, I'll plan on bringing something home this time. It's a little more than I mentioned in my PM, but as long as I don't have to buy a whole car, she'll forgive me. lol

With all due respect to Chuck, the OP should correct the spelling of his name.

With all due respect to John, we aren't all created equal. Some are good friends and some are good spellers. Some are good mechanics and some are good newsletter editors. Rarely is anyone great at everything they do. John is an exceptional asset to the world of Studebakers. John is an exceptional friend. He is generous almost to a fault. John is passionate about Studebakers and the people that drive them. He was a good friend to Chuck and now a good friend to Chuck's family. John has helped countless people find just the right part for their project. Aside from all of these qualities, he misspelled a name. Oh well!

BTW, It might be a good time to run that signature line through a spell checker. Could be wrong but believe it should be "self-anointed" not "self annoited".

Sorry got distracted. Happens at my age and 2 strokes and a seizure. Anyway, John, is Colton going to be there? I may want to hire him for parts removal for just a few items.

What is the address to the property? I'd be coming from Illinois. Are there any others coming from east of the mississippi?

Mike, I thought this quote might answer your question:

If you use a GPS, the address is:
12985 E Transtar Trail (But, when you get to the property, the address listed on the pillars is 12785)
    Vail AZ 85641

Who knows the significance of the numbers 12785? Chuck not only named the street after his favorite model of truck but the address numbers have meaning from another part of his life as well.

Hope to see you all there on the 21st and 22nd!

Yep it was at one time came out of Ohio at one time full package car. The pix that are shown are only about 1/4 of what's there. Will have cold watermelon on hand and it will be hot. Bring a good hat and long sleeved shirts to keep from getting burned. At this time I don't believe they'll be any heavy equipment to help lift cars and move them. 6 am doors open. Possibly be there on Friday if I get enough response to be there. Thanks John

How complete is car number 10, the '61 Lark convertible? Is it a standard or automatic? The '61s are getting harder to find.

WAH, HAH, HAH, HA... Oops, was that out loud?

Seriously, I did get a laugh out of that one. Oh dear, Socks would never forgive me. Then again, maybe I could borrow Eric Bartel's four-in-hand. I actually looked this up on Google Maps and it would take a minimum of 88 hours travelling. That would work out to about 11 days of travel, baring some idiot running the whole shebang off the road killing me and the horses (leading cause of death in the Amish is exactly thi
    s)!

However, the idea of driving Wilbur down there and tinkering with the Transtar might work. IF the thing could be made to run and IF viable parts were available, and IF I could come up with the money for all of this...
A lot of iffs to consider and little time in which to do so...

By the by, the main reason I am considering this truck is precisely because this truck can haul my carriages and pull the accommodations for me.

But yeah... it's a consideration and I have done that consideration. Hotels are something else entirely.

From another post on Aunt Bee 66 Daytona

There is a twin to that car out at Chuck Naugles. If someone does not buy it on June 10 or 11, bye bye to the crusher. I also have access to a 1965 Studebaker 6 that goes in that car with 30,000 miles on it 15 minutes away from Chuck's Studey Acres.

Less than 1 week to go before the final sale. Hope you don't miss out on these spectacular deals. It's your last opportunity to buy these cars and parts at these blowout prices. And you'll be saving them from a less favorable fate!

I'm leaving Wednesday evening from Illinois. Computer says 20 hours. Did you get any other commitments for Friday? I'd like to be there as early as I can to help with the travel time coming back. I sent John a note regarding what should we bring (tires, jacks, generator, torch, etc, etc)?

Also need help with where to find lodging.
    thanks

This is breaking my heart. All those beautiful cars and trucks going to the crusher. I know you have done all you can to find them homes. After spending most of my life working on corroded, scaly junk
here in the rust belt, I think many people where rust is not a problem cannot appreciate a vehicle without rust. I implore those who go there this last time to save as much as you can. I would be there with
you if it wasn't for business commitments, distance, and an seriously ill mother.

I am planning on running out Friday at noon from Azusa and returning home Saturday afternoon.

If anybody wants to join the fun, I could certainly use somebody taking a turn at the wheel to spell me. I have a one ton Ford van so heavy parts are not a problem.
