I have a very tentative plan of going a bit newer in my StudeBus.
The NV4500 is looking pretty good....

      Hey Sal,
Seeing as you are trying to keep it all Studebaker, I thought I'd send a pic or two of the data plate in my US6.Click image for larger version

I hope someone posts so I don't have to drive 150 miles round trip to take a picture of one of mine.

When it comes to that one- all we have here is a transmission or two- no plaque. Sorry.

Pretty sure it just says "5" without the OD letters. I have one buried somewhere in my stash, but haven't seen it for years.

Chip, Things have changed. A few years back the town got out of the police business and now pays the Broward County Sheriff's department for that service.

My mom lived in the Bel Air section of Pompano Beach many years ago so I went through L bt S often. Good to know it's changed.

                        HTH,
What model of 5-speed direct was your transmission?

Mine is a Clark 269V; also a 5-speed direct, but a much different shift pattern from yours:

                            Thanks!

Interesting to know, as I thought NP only supplied 5-speeds with OD.

Take a look through the parts book Craig, you'll also find a "short fourth" version (same pattern but different order when using the 2 spd rear end). Section 7 group 700C.

                                Right!

I now see both DD and OD mixed together in the 5-speed New Process section. Of course, I only paid attention to the next section, the Clark 5-speed as that's what mine has.
