  • Interior: Defroster/Air Switch Removal

    1950 Champion 4 door

The manual says to slide a punch or screwdriver along the side of the extended knob to remove the knob. Is there a trick to this? Do I need to pry the retaining clip one way? Which way? Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't checked mine, but if it has the spring clip, then use a small screwdriver or similar to push the spring clip toward the rear of the car. I guess you would call this forward because it's towards the knob. Most of the knobs I've worked with had a spring loaded button that needed to be pushed down and was located near the rear of the switch. If I remember I will look at my 50 Champion tomorrow.
