Is the use of the 'Pontiac' by GM name now null and void due to legal implications from the former dealer Pontiac network? If so, that could present a problem. Otherwise, if it was labelled a Pontiac, both Chevrolet and Buick dealers could sell it

It'd be neat to see that brand back.

Actually I'm not so sure about the survivor possibilities for Dodge. Once they split off the trucks (RAM now not, Dodge Ram) and it seems that there are no new models planned for Dodge. The effort to expand the market offerings are all going to Jeep. Once you get away from the Dodge go-fast offerings their sedan lineup is very far behind the other companies. All that being said I think Dodge goes the way of Mercury, Plymouth, Pontiac Etc; they were all left to slowly die as their product offerings weren't updated.
It's quite sad as a company consolidation kills off old friends like Dodge.Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain !

What if "Pontiac" reclassified as part of the model name instead of the make?
Step right up, folks! Behold the 1000hp 2018 Chevrolet "Pontiac Trans Am".
I recall answering yes to inquiries about any, all or part of "Studebaker Lark Daytona Wagonaire".Andy
