  • Cool/Heat: Cooled Water Heater Installations Part I

It is amazing to me how many DIY'ers or shadetree mechanics do not understand how a Cooling System in an Engine works.

I found way more than I thought existed of these BACKWARDS heater hose connections on Larks and Champs, a LOT of Champs!

ID:	1753706 Some are Very nice Trucks like the last one and a few are even Forum Members Trucks that knowing this could be corrected.

I very easily found 16 of these where the Heater Valve will not turn off the Hot water and the Cooled water is being sent to the Valve instead of the HOT Water!

I DO realize that after this many years of course, many have been purchased this way and some probably even had New Hoses installed and the Former Installation was followed without even thinking it might not be the correct Factory Installation.

Don't EVEN get me started on all these wrong Air Cleaner positions!

Thanks for the clarification. And pic # 1 looks like Dick Datson may have been involved.

I don't know about that, it is just one of the latest Champs on the '63 Champ Registry, but it does have a definite "out of the Box" D.Datson look!
