Can you adapt a powershift shift unit to work with a PNDLR pattern??

Since I have bucket seats, why not put the shift on the floor or if the stock Studebaker shifter will not work... what will??

I'm a little confused by your question, but here goes. The simple answer is no. The Powershift trans has that pattern built into it. If you want the PNDLR pattern find a heavy duty Flighto, it will have that pattern. If you have the powershift and want to put the shifter on the column, that can be done. You will need to find an indicator lense to replace the incorrect one. I've seen it done, but I don't know how it was done. If you have the powershift and want the shifter on the floor, what is the problem? That is what that transmission was made for and they all came that way.

I did not know if there was a part that could be changed out or reengineered. I have only seen one of these floorshifters out of a Lark or a Hawk.

I don't have a powershift but I can easily obtain a regular v8 automatic. I have no idea how easy or hard it would be to get my hands a powershift

I want to put the shifter on the floor using whatever Studebaker parts I can get my hands on. if I have to scrounge up a powershift I guess I will scrounge up a powershift:)

unless my daughter need braces:)

I don't have a powershift in my '53, but do have a 80s vintage ford v6 and AT. The bezel from a '63 lark fits the '53 column. For the shift indicator, you need to find a 60's era jeep grand wagoneer with AT. The indicator lense fits exactly into the chrome bezel used on later model studes. It is PRND21. Unfortunately, these seem to be harder to find than some stude parts!

OK, so you want to put a powershift trans with a floorshift in your car, which is what? Letting us know what you are wanting to put it in and your general location will help us recomend where to look for parts and what you will need.
