  • The Site of the Former Studebaker Production Facility in Hamilton Ontario

    Hi all,
I have just received confirmation that the site of the Studebaker Production plant in Hamilton Ontario, will be developed and named the Freeman Industrial Park. The Hamilton Chapter made a request to have a street named within the facility to commemorate Studebaker. The city of Hamilton has agreed and one of the streets within the site will be named "Studebaker Place". We are very pleased with that as our commemorative plaque is located in the parkette adjacent to the former Studebaker plant.

The address was 349 Ferrie St. E., corner of Victoria N., a few blocks south of the docks and Burlington St. E There is no building there right now, and the address of the business park is 440 Victoria Ave. N.

                Roly,
Thanks to all for the work by the Hamilton Chapter to make this happen. I received my copy of the plaque, which I plan to display with my Hamilton brick. Are copies of the plaque available to SDC members, at large? I think that it would make a great addition to any Studebaker memorabilia collection.

                  Hi Jim,
Right now, the plaque copies are being made available to members of our club and the Ontario chapter. We will have to look into that once we have all of those delivered. It was a phenomenal effort by all of our committee members and was so well received. Have you seen the slide show done that day by the Vintage Hamilton Facebook site? I have put a link here for you.
