  • 57 Provincial-need fender script "PROVINCIAL"

If anyone has a Provincial Wagon with the fender script installed then
would you make me an impression so I might use it to cast two for my wagon?
Or, better yet, where I can buy one. Stud Intl. doesn't show one in the
    catalog.
    Thanks,

Have you tried calling SI to see if there may be one or two in stock in the South Bend warehouse?
I've purchased several non listed parts for my Wagonaire and Packard.

      starlightchamp,
Did you see my picture post of '57 Provincial wagon (filled with tumbleweeds) in Northern Nevada a couple of years ago. If you like I can probably go back and find the pics for you.

No, Buzzard, I didn't see it. What I need is a tracing that
        could be
used to make a clay mold for resin casting of letters. I'll call S.I to check if they
have one. Is there a list of Provincial owners ?

Yes. There are only '57 and '58 Provincials, so that '57 Nameplate has to be the ONLY design!

A Clay mold of that would be Great if Richard Curtis (starlightchamp) can make them.

Or send it to be returned.

Well if I can get it off in one piece you can have it. does me no good. In fact, I'd let the whole car go cheap if you wanted parts. I even have another set of front fenders for it. Buying the thing was a mistake and now I don't know what to do with it.

                Studeclunker,

Yes, please remove the script even if you have to cut off the mounting pins. My son , Ron, is also
interested in buying other parts from the car. He would like the roof mount and hood. If the car has
a windshield in decent shape that also. Please PM me with your location and phone number.

                  Hi Rich,
Sorry I'm so far away. I have a windshield I'd give you. I removed it from a 1957 President that was being removed from some recently sold property to be scrapped.

Starlight, for what it's worth, the auction that I got my 65 cruiser also had a 57 Commander V8 that was bid to $55.00. The winning bid did not show up so the car is available. It's up here in Northern ca. Got some good parts. I can send you a link if you are interested in many pictures

I am so glad I didn't see that auction! Otherwise I'd be trying to get this thing home. I have a '56 that this might have the bits to make complete, or vice-versa. Toooooo... many projects, must resist... must resist... must resist...

                          Sounds like this one~ https://sacvalleyauctions.com/auctio...-4-door~13353/

The Champion sold for a bit more, and is on Craigslist for about ten times times the money it sold for~ https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/5975032181.html

But it's still cheaper than this one in Arizona~

                          Nevermind.

I did not know the very rare 57 Champion in Phoenix won the Americana 4 years in a row!!!!!????? It is a Champion custom, one step above a Scotsman but the lowest 57 you could have in the normal run of models. I don't think many Champion customs were built. I don't have my Turning Wheels on the 57 issue with me in Montana but I think it was less than 1K.

As that car sits, the price may drop but it would have to be 95% lower to get to the true value. There have been several cars on the Phoenix Craigslist for a long period of time and the price stays firm. For example, there is a late 40's Champion Starlight coupe non running listed for close to a year at $2,500

Yeah... I've seen that Bob. There are a lot of people who are just POSITIVE their car is worth zillions because they heard of one going for that at {you name the auction}.
We run into that with horse-drawn vehicles as well. Someone pays wayyyyy too much to have it restored and they want everyone else to pay for their overspending. I know of a fellow who spent fifteen thousand dollars having a nice Phaeton restored and can't understand why no one wants to pay him that for a three or four thousand dollar vehicle. Even better are the cheapskates who "restore" the vehicle themselves, do a lousy job, and then want top dollar. I suppose the alternative to this are the "Rat Rods" for automobiles. Go figure.
