Interesting. But I do not believe that car would have been the replacement for the GT Hawk. I think it would have been the Sceptre:

The car at the top is NOT a Hawk, or a Hawk replacement, and was mistakenly referred as a Hawk once before: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?29200-Chris-other-Eye-Candy-12-23-GT-Hawk-Prototype

It was a Lark styling study.

Hawk-Lark-Sceptre regardless, to my eye the fact that it was a styling study is just more proof that there is a god!

That Sceptre is in the Studebaker Nat'l Museum in So. Bend. Just imagine if that design would have made it to market. Wow, what a beautiful car. Brooks Stevens was a brilliant designer.
