ID:	1753532Hello, I just spent the day working on my 1957 Packard wagon trying to get the horns to honk.
Problem is the horns are bad. Took them apart and they were full of rust, cleaned them up as best I could with little positive results. Soooo, I need a replacement set, that work, one high, and one low. They are Delco Remy type S 333 I believe with the two bolt mount. Imagine they are the same for a 1957 Studebaker sedan. I will try to find the S/P part numbers and post them here. Ok found parts numbers, 1542296 and 1542297. Thank you. see photos,
    Bil

Since you've already taken them apart, did you file and adjust the points?

What about turning the Tone Adj. Screw, have you tried that?

      They "Look" pretty Good!

Yes, tried all of these fixes, I'm afraid water must have gotten into the works and rusted, corroded the interior badly.
Didn't look bad from the exterior other than rusted screw connection.

I looked for many years for a hi tone horn for my GT Hawk, finally settled on a Lark version which is clocked differently-and riveted so it makes it hard to reclock or repair. I made an interim bracket that works without having to drill any new mounting holes and it will have to work until I can find a good GT horn. The Hawk types were mounted lower to the ground and not protected from water intrusion when the seams on the die cast shells ultimately became warped.

All the more reason for a special "road trip" to the final York swap meet.
