  • 1955 Comander

My son started saving this old classic (professional rebuild on original motor) he is in college and needs to sell it and we could use advice. Should we spend another $3,000.00 and sell it then or should we sell it as is, we have $5,000.00 in it and don't want to get in over our heads.

Reed, we would need some more information to provide you with reasonable and useful advice. What condition is the car in - totally disassembled, partially disassembled, still all together? Is it drivable, or at least 'rollable'? What body style (ie, 2 door sedan, 4 door sedan, 2 door hardtop, 2 door post coupe, station wagon)? Condition of body and interior? Are the brakes operable? Some pictures would go a long way towards helping get you some good reasonable advice.

This forum is not shy on giving advice, but we need info to go on. Then it will be up to you to sort thru all the advice.

Definitely what Paul said, this '55 COMMANDER could be any of 5 Body Styles, 1 to 3 Trim Levels and ANY Condition, with any of THREE Transmissions and 2 Carburetor Options/Horsepower ratings all of which WILL affect it's Value.

Normally, all other items being equal, a Long, Low, Sport Coupe ("C" Body) :
