  • Engine: R2 RPMs while choked?

Tried my Thiebault rebuilt carb today....seems to be idling high (1400) when first started and took several minutes to return to normal. What do you think?

Sounds close. Should be around 1200 on full choke, and 675 fully warmed.

Lou: You can correct the spelling in the thread title if you want to.

Just go to EDIT POST as usual. Then, look for the option GO ADVANCED. Click on that and you'll be allowed to change / correct the title of the thread.

Click on SAVE CHANGES as usual and you are all set. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

I put some sleeve insulation over my choke hot air pipe so it would stay hotter and come off choke quicker. This is on my 1950 Champion.

          Agree, sounds close.
There should be a small screw under the choke cam so you can adjust the "choke on" rpm.

Thanks, I'll try that if still needed.
