Tried my Thiebault rebuilt carb today....seems to be idling high (1400) when first started and took several minutes to return to normal. What do you think?

Sounds close. Should be around 1200 on full choke, and 675 fully warmed.

That's: "choked"....never passed the spelling test in high school either.

I put some sleeve insulation over my choke hot air pipe so it would stay hotter and come off choke quicker. This is on my 1950 Champion.

Agree, sounds close.
There should be a small screw under the choke cam so you can adjust the "choke on" rpm.

Thanks, I'll try that if still needed.
