  • More Australian Weasel stuff.

In 1946, the NSW Government purchased two M29 Weasels for the Kosciusko Chalet that the Australian Army had been trialling for jungle opera...

I never realized that snow occurred in Australia... I always thought of brown snakes, hungry sharks, dry hot deserts etc.

OTOH, I know that the folks down there are the hardy types friendly and outgoing!

You are right, we do have all sorts of coloured snakes that will mostly kill you, or at least mess up up, and sharks, crocodiles, deadly jelly fish, and hot deserts, but It's a great place to live, and we think the best country on earth ;-) RE: the snow - We have an area that borders New South Wales and Victoria that we call the Australian Alps, I know, I know most people from other countries snicker when we say 'Alps'. But give us a break Australia is the flattest continent on earth so we have take credit where we can! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Alps

Just on the deadly jelly fish - We've had a spate of sting victims over the past month. Unfortuately they are around when the temps here are up in the 90 - 100's, swimming weather!

A SNORKELLER is in hospital after the ninth suspected Irukandji jellyfish sting at Queensland’s Fraser Island in just over a week.

Yes we have lots of wildlife over here. but we don't have Lions, bears, pumas, tigers etc. We have lots of snakes and spiders of which most are harmless including these most beautiful blue tongue lizards.
By far the worst thing we have here are bloody salt water crocodiles. Nasty buggers they are.

These days as a senior citizen, I spend most of my time exploring from the comfort of my couch...
