And Alice Cooper recently purchased a white '63 Avanti from a local classic car dealer right here in Newberg Oregon and had it shipped to Arizona. He seems to like these cars.

Funny. There was a white '63 Avanti sold last year at the Silver auction at Ft. McDowell casino. It went to a dealer from Oregon, who I happened to chat with briefly. And I thought I spotted Alice Cooper at the sale, too.

Could be the same one Gord.

theavanti.net also mentions Shirley Bassey as an Avanti owner. Clicking on her picture brings up mention of her having an Avanti shipped to England. I don't know exactly when she sold it, but a Birmingham, England man, bought it from her. I got it when I bought his collection of Studebakers in 1985. He had it stored in a warehouse in Cork, Ireland. It was shipped from there to Baltimore along with everything else (two ocean containers). It hadn't been run for quite a while, but was in excellent condition, low miles, R-1 with Powershift, a 3.07 TT rear, heater, power steering but no radio or other options. I got it runing with no problems, sold it to a man in Altoona, PA, drove it there and turned it over to him, but lost track of it there.

Alice Cooper has visited the Studebaker National Museum.

Gord, I stopped by the classic car dealership here in Newberg this morning and they confirmed your theory of where the white Avanti came from. They told me that Alice Cooper has a good collection of cars but told them his favorite is the Avanti. I just can't live without one in this stable.

Cool! That was a nice-looking Avanti, and it sold for a decent price, quite cheap, actually. Not a 400-point show car, but one I'd be happy to take to cruises, and just drive.

The dark blue Avanti shown is 1964 R5203. Any additional information on the white car is appreciated.
