I see this reference occasionally and haven't been able to find it spelled out. I'm not great at acronyms--there are so durned many of them. What the heck is it?

The term CASO is often applied depending on whether you are the buyer or the seller.American iron, real old school
With two tone paint, it sure is cool
Its got 8 cylinders and uses them all
With an overdrive that just won't stall
With a 4 barrel carb and dual exhausts
With 4.23 gears it can really get lost
Its got safety belts and I ain't scared
The brakes are good and the tires are fair.
Tried to sell her, but got no taker
I"ll just keep driving my Studebaker

Well, since this should be a PG audience the polite way I heard that over 40 years ago in the military was Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition. Most GI's exchanged the F in the acronym for a more profane word. Same thing with FIGMO. We were glad to see that especially leaving Vietnam, or a base where everything was FUBAR on a daily basis.

CASO can be used for many automotive things, but please, don't go CASO on brakes, steering or tires. I don't want to be the victim of someone saving a buck thirty-eight and I don't think many others would appreciate it either. Save your money on making it pretty, but make it safe to drive.sigpic1966 Daytona (The First One)

As a favor to all of us old guys that are not text savvy and don't want to be, please use plain English language whenever possible. It will make the forum more friendly and informative when we all know what each other is talking about. Thanks in advance.
