Can anyone tell me what would be involved in installing a 63 and later saginaw box in my 59 lark ? Im planning on leaving the car manual steering. Thanks

I did that in my 59 wagon. Unbolt old steering & bolt in the new. Pickle fork & a few wrenches is all that I needed.

Also note that all 1961 to 1966 Larks and Lark Type have the Recirculating Ball Saginaw Steering Gear.

The easier to steer Manual Wagonaire and Convertible boxes are slower though.

All others, Manual and Power, are the same slightly faster Ratio .

Plan on changing your steering wheel and horn wiring to the later style also. The later models don't have the hollow stem for the horn wire.

          What everyone has said...
The "Avanti" quick steering arms will give back the steering speed lost, (lock to lock wheel rotations).
Doing the same thing on my54 wagon.

I did this to my 59 Lark and kept the old steering wheel.

The horn contact plate can be used from a 55, or somewhere around that year, and the bush and bracket assembly from later Larks, which will give you the use of a wire on the outside of the hollow steering shaft.

Forgot to mention, you will need the Pitman arm and possibly the drag link, but definitely the Pitman arm from the Saginaw box.

I actually have some Studebaker performance books that were self-published by a guy over 20 years ago. I can let you borrow them. They have a lot of information including differentials that will fit, potential coil spring replacements, etc. Let me know and I can send them to you.
