1949 R-series grain truck available in Montana

There's a 1949 R-series grain truck with a dump bed available in Montana. Not too many pictures, but from the ones that are posted, it looks OK. The seller is advertising it as a 1948 model.

I have absolutely no need for a truck like that, but I would like to have one. I could even live with the Chevy 348 engine if it was a clean install. No chance I will have the place to store one properly and it would be a shame for a vehicle that well preserved to sit outside.

Come to think of it, when were the 1949 model year trucks first available to the public? This one might be an early 1949 model that was sold and registered in 1948.
