We don't yet have any costs figured because of the nature of the package. Glass is so hard to package and ship, even via Greyhound. Too many chances for breakage. I live in the Sacramento area just off the I-5, near the Sacramento Airport. The locals here try to call it Sacramento International, but I think it gained the name due to an occasional jaunt to Tijuana, Mexico. But all that aside, I would be happy to consider a healthy pitch-in for gas. PM me with your considerations. Thankssals54

I had my son transport TWO windshields from Bob Peterson's to Ventura County (375 miles) in his 2 Dr. Honda Civic. I built a support frame and squeezed every possible fraction of an inch out of the space to get the glass as vertical as possible. The glass was edged with pipe foam insulation. The pictures illustrate a single windshield (it was the cracked glass I was replacing) but there were two that made the trip side by side. The good news was that both pieces made it safe and considering both had a bull's-eye and Bob had rough cut the corners (they were wagon/convertible windshields) they were suspect for cracking. So, just an option to consider if you have no other choice.
I feel your pain. With a new windshield being in the $300-$500 price range and then add shipping on top of that ($200+) it is not an amount one wants to spent (much less installation costs). If you get one used and have free (in my case) shipping, or minimal cost, it takes a lot of the pain out of having to replace a windshield. Especially in a case where my car had all of $1,500 in it (total).Last edited by wittsend; 10-20-2016, 09:31 AM.'64 Lark Type, powered by '85 Corvette L-98 (carburetor), 700R4, - CASO to the Max.
