Actually, that's better than some of Loewy's other personal designs...bizarre would be an apt name for them being polite about it. If you look at a number of his designs it's pretty obvious he (or his design team for the Avanti) used the best features of those personal designs for the Avanti.
I guess he saved the best for last.Poet...Mystic...Soldier of Fortune. As always...self-absorbed, adversarial, cocky and in general a malcontent.

Looks like a 69 Vette front with covers over the headlights, cloned to a 63 vette midsection, finished off with an Avanti rear glass and lowered Avanti rear body section, finished off with a pair of oddball tail lamps, hugging the ground so nobody can see them. As to value--it's BMW--not Studebaker--what do you expect!! By the way-it's not the aforementioned Vehicle-totally different front end.

If Studebaker had built a two place car like that with some brand specific touches we would have all loved it. Some cars are an acquired taste."In the heart of Arkansas."

And taking credit for it...not that's an unusual thing. It's the same as getting a patent when your work was done for the company that pays you for creating it. The work was done on the company's times and the company gets the credit...not saying it's always fair but that's the way it goes.Poet...Mystic...Soldier of Fortune.
