                    A little too-busy interpretation of the Bob Bourke sports car idea (the one using existing panels), but really nicely engineered, especially the taillights.

                      I think it would have looked better with the second two-tone color done only in the scallop, like in the original Bourke drawing. But like someone said, his car, his choice.

                        Ditto. As with many customs, they seemed to try too hard. Understatement is a rare gem.

                            Except for the partial continental kit (a Hawk decklid would be better), it looks consistent with what Studebaker might have fielded had finances allowed. Remember, by the mid-'50's, overdecoration, not subtlety, was the norm. Although most two seat roadsters were de-trimmed and solid color, Studebaker had to deliver more to break through the crowd. A clean version could have been offered as well.

                              As I recall, the owner didn't finish it until the night before the meet. Had to get a neighbor to hold the rear bumper so he could bolt it on.
