Some of you may be aware that 'Studebaker of Australia' is doing a cut-away engine for displays at car shows. We are sectioning it out so the moving parts can be seen when turned over by hand, but the best bit is that it will be fired up and run on three cylinders for short periods. We will do this several times during the show, while flying the Studebaker flag. There is still a lot of work to be done, sectioning the oil and fuel pump, distributor cap, bell housing and gear box. Then cleaning and painting. It will be mounted on a frame in the back of my M5.

Definitely a Tough little Engine, but this one happens to be a Pig!

We were donated two, and this one was in slightly better shape than the other ! At least I can rest assured we're not destroying a restorable engine ;-) Apparently it spend quite a bit of time on the ground outside earlier in it's life before being shedded, but the damage was done. Four out of the six plugs came off with the leads and left the thread and electrode in the head. It's certainly a good recommendation to use coolant treatment.
