  • Speedo / Tach / Gauges: 1964 Commander speedometer cable

I am working on a 1964 Studebaker Commander R1. It has a three on the tree. Im trying to figure out where the speedometer cable goes through the firewall. Any picture would be great. I have looked a 63 (pictured if I did it right) but it a automatic and goes through the firewall where my firewall has no hole at that location.

    thanks
    Marty

It goes through the Steering column seal.

On my 1965 Wagonaire, it also passes through the steering column seal. Just installed new cable assembly this past spring.

The picture you took of the '63 - that is the emergency brake cable, not the speedometer cable. And since the '64 models changed to the foot operated emergency brake, there would be no such hole in the firewall.
