cool trucks for sure...but newsflash...Stude CE's had interchangeable front and rear fenders! Really? Even just looking at a photo should tell the author otherwise...unless I'm clearly blind. That's the problem with the 'net...any yahoo can post anything and sound like an expert. cheers Juniorsigpic

Like all other media outlets, Popular Mechanics is surely trying to appeal to younger readers -- so it's understandable that these would be considered to be "obscure" models. But I remember seeing all six of the US-built models back in the 1950s. Not sure any of us in North America got a chance to see the Tempo Matador or the Benz -- including them in the list is a bit of a stretch.Skip Lackie

Originally posted by jclary View PostHopefully, someone with credible knowledge will chime in, but, I believe this could be "partially" correct. I think that some early "M" series trucks carried the "Coupe Express" moniker...although, I don't think they deserved it.
Clearly in context of the photo provided and the years provided...the 37-39 CE trucks did not have interchangeable front and rear fenders. Perhaps a photo of an 'M' series with the associated trivia fact would have been more appropriate? I think even more appropriate would have been the trivia fact that (some?) M series were considered CE Studebakers. I do stand corrected. Cheers, Juniorsigpic
