    Here is a link to a posting for a Studebaker Flight-o-matic transmission for sale. Ad says it works fine. Good price.
    Not mine. (Make that 2 transmissions).

      Looking at the converter housing, it doesn't appear to be from an 8 cylinder Stude. (as described)

        That's good, because it would be a first gear start..........throw a V8 bellhousing on it and off you go!

          Yep I agree with Ed, that must be a 6 Cyl. Converter Housing.
          It would have to be a '58 to '62 Champion or Lark VI, either way, a Low Gear Start!

          And with that Oil Pan and under floor Fill/Check if original, a '58 to 1960.

                Actually it's not about being "Good" or smart at all, just "EXPERIENCED"!

                After you have seen and had hands on a few dozen different Studebakers that you CARE about and hundreds or thousands of Studebaker Parts, that visual image never goes away.

                    I talked with the seller of the rebuilt flight-o-matic, and he had no idea how many miles on rebuild, and it was most likely rebuilt 20 years ago+-. FWIW.....
