  • Steering: Power Steering Mounting

Anyone have a good picture or two showing the p/s pump mounted on a '61 or '62 Hawk 289? If I'm looking at it right, there are the two cast brackets on the pump and a steel one going to the exhaust manifold. I ordered the two studs and the steel bracket from s/i, the two cast ones are attached to the pump. There is no way the bracket that I got with the p/s setup will fit on my motor and it's not for the six either. Thanks!- Jim

The Eaton P/S Pump minus the Studebaker Cast Iron Mounting Bracket would be common to many Years of Fords so that could be what you have.
Does the Reservoir have a short filler Pipe with a Dipstick Cap on it?

Here are a couple Pics, but on a Hawk with the huge Fan Shroud you pretty much need the Front Clip off the Car or the Engine Out to really SEE the P/S Pump bracket and how it mounts to the Water Manifold.

Did you mount the brackets like this? they go in front of the pump behind the pulley.

I have the brackets shown in post #3. I have a Stude pump with the flat cover. It looks like I just replace two bolts on motor with the studs I ordered from s/i and attach the bracket from the pump to the exhaust manifold. Is that correct? Thanks-Jim

Thanks, looks like '61 & '62 have different mounting systems. Jim
