Ignition: Distributor Tag Numbers

I checked the tag on my distributor when I got it out. Number (1110864) is correct for a Sky Hawk, but I don't know what the numbers after it (6A6) are for. Any one know what they mean?

They indicate the date of manufacture. Don't have my book handy, but I think 6A6 translates to 6 January 1956.

Yes it is an Early Delco, '51 to '59 Stude. and the Top of which is very close or the same as Buick, Olds, Cad, Pontiac, Chev. at least the same replacement Parts go in it. Their Rotation though is Clockwise I believe not Counterclockwise as ours.
