    I was told by seller this is a 51. Others who have viewed the pics say 1950. I know the plate on the door jamb is not original.Click image for larger version

    I only see one picture, of the replacement tag.

      We don't know where the number on that really lame serial number plate came from, but it does fit into the range of numbers for a 1950 Champion engine. Could be the original car serial number, but seems a little too high for that.

        Can you get the letters and numbers from the firewall tag? They will tell the story.

            Yes, Tim; that's simply a replacement tag of some sort. Definitely not Studebaker-issued or affixed. BP
