  • Other: please help me identify what this fits

I have a red lens, at top I read: SAE-STDB-59

    at bottom I read GB-828

Can someone tell me which model Studebaker this fits? It measures 3.75 inches long and 2.5 inches wide.

    thankyou,

    Jerry Whitfield

Looks like late '30s Chevy car or '40s Chevy truck.

Not certain what it does fit, but don't think it's Studebaker. STD means stop, tail, directional. The GB-828 should identify it if you had a catalog. GB might stand for Glo-Brite. Your lens could be an aftermarket for older Chevrolet.......Could the numberactually be 328?

Definitely a Glo-Brite replacement lens, if you can better define the GB number it will google for a probable vehicle. The STDB-59 does not reference Studebaker, SAE for Studebaker would be STU. Might just be a SAE approved 1959 universal lense, maybe from a trailer. I does look a lot like the 40 Chev Suburban, but doesn't work with the SAE date. Good luck.

tail lights on my 62 lark are marked SAE STBD-62. so I,m thinking STBD-59 would be a 59 Studebaker lens . looks like probably for a truck. anyone else have an idea?

Looks like that number has been researched before:http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/bbo...p/t-11608.html, reference to a Harley replacement tail light lens, being similar to a 1940s Chevy.
https://sites.google.com/site/taillightcodesguide/ states that STDB is definitely not a Studebaker light-------------so who knows. Other than the "59" being the first year of that lens production-in any case looks like similar items go for about $20.00 or less on e-bay.
