Can anyone tell me the year and cubic inches of serial #I223349?

1953 Champion. Six cyl 3 X 4" 169.6 c.i. 7.0 comp ratio, 85 H.p. at 4000 rpm.

Seems to me it should be a '57 engine, a 185. Look for the casting number on the side of the block near the distributor. 533870 was used 1955-58.

Thanks for the info Dwain.I thought it was later than a 53 as I have a chasis manual for 53/54 and the beginning #s for 54 are quite a spread from what I've got and I know 54 was a slow year.Checking the casting # indicates a 185 as it is 533870.What are the differences with the 185 block?Probably clearance for the longer stroke?

Based on the original block, but with some major changes. The main line was lowered 3/16" in the block, and main bearings were increased in size. For con rod clearance the cylinders were notched at the bottom, and the piston skirts were notched on each side.
