    Looking for someone who repairs the vacuum Trico wiper motor. One of my customer is looking to repair.

        "Back in the day" some local garages got them going by letting some brake fluid get sucked into the atmosphere port.

          I just posted a wiper question on the tech forum and was told go to wiperman,com was told he is very good. He is the fricken guy mention in 2R5 answer

              Sometimes you can take them apart and re-lube them. The breather screen becomes clogged and the lube in them becomes dried from age. The bolt heads are unique to trick but it is not hard to modify a screwdriver shaft to work. I am unsure what the lube recommendations are currently but it use to be gasoline. The baffle or arm in it has leather on it.

                  I spoke with Ficken some years ago, after he had rebuilt the motor for my '33, and he was adamant about not adding any lubricants to the motor other than what was specifically intended. He said that lubricant will not go bad as long as the wipers are used on a regular basis. My experience prior to 1960 pretty much confirms his statement.

                    One other thought, you might also consider looking for an NOS wiper motor.

                    I just bought one for a different application and it worked fine.

                      If time/money is a consideration I repaired the vacuum wipers module on my '63 Rambler by making a new seal out of cork. It held up a number of years and I stopped driving the car before it ceased to function. I don't know if the Studebaker system is similar or not. In some sense electric wiper motors/gearboxes can be similar enough that it doesn't take much to fabricate a means of adapting from another car. Thus a wiper motor from Pick A part would only be about $15.

                      If time/money are not an issue disregard.
