Specifically what is beyond repair? All the parts are readily available, both used and new.
FWIW, a local Stude guy drove two hours each way to pick up a $100 used rear axle, spent most of a day installing it and after test-driving it, discovered it had a loud whine. Used axles are sometimes good, sometimes not.

To add to what PackardV8 said, your truck has a Dana 44 rear axle, which was used by many other makes of car and truck, including modern Jeeps. As a result, most of the internal parts are readily available and may even be in stock if you have a shop nearby that specializes in off-road vehicles.Skip Lackie
