I ran out of gas yesterday, does 16.8 gallons sound proper for the tank volume,1955 President V-8.?

Yes, that's just about right. At least, that's the size of a Lark tank. The '56 shop manual indicates that the tank should be 18 gal. However, if there was a problem in the last twenty years someone could have replaced it with a Lark tank. It would have fit right in with minor modifications.

I just found gas froming a solid stream coming from my pump at the diaphram. Pump is 30 months old with 4,000 miles.[xx(] On wonder I ran out of gas yesterday .
