There was a story last night on ABC News about the "obsolete" motor oil that Dollar General has on their shelves. Of course it is an off brand, something like DG. The problem, they state, is that it lists on the label that it is only for cars built before 1988, but unsuitable for later cars.
Could this be because this oil has ZDDP in it, which was eliminated cause of the catalytic converters? Haven't picked up a bottle to check but if that's the case it could be a good find for the older car owners like us that need that extra component in our lubrication. Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? Never knew that oil could become obsolete or go bad.
