  • Fuel System: Stromberg Carbs

I have acquired two Stromberg WW carburetors for parts. They appear to be fully intact however both baseplates have cracks in them from either over tightening or improper bolt down sequencing perhaps. I am wondering if these base plates can be repaired and most importantly to that end result what type of material are they made of? Has anyone have experience repairing one of these or are they just "Junk?" Thanks in advance.

They are Aluminum and are usually junk after many miles, the throttle plate shaft holes may also be worn.

The '61 and up Calif. and New York delivered Cars would have the PCV Hose Tube in the back, making it thinner and prone to cracking.

Thanks StudeRich for the info. One does indeed have the vent tube but the other does not. Guess I'll try to weld them for ha ha's.
