  • Cool/Heat: Radiator Interchange

What radiators, from what year/model, are an exact bolt-in for a Sky Hawk?...

  • #2
1956 to 1964 Hawk V8's should all work. Some years a different Supplier was used so the top Tanks have a different shape but should fit if they are for a V8 Hawk.

The '63 to '66 V8 Larks and Lark Types are a possible interchange.

The Parts Catalogs will almost give a different part Number for every year, but that does not tell you what minute detail, like Brand changed.

When Standard Surplus used to sell all these various NOS Studebaker Part Numbers, they had it narrowed down to mostly Sixes and Eights and Trans. Cooler or Not.

Agree...it was only the '56 and '57 radiators that had the upper hose fitting curved outboard rather than straight back toward the engine, thus requiring a unique upper hose.
Any Hawk radiator would fit if you used the hoses that matched the year of the radiator. Also be aware that the lower hose changed beginning in 1961, since the radiator lower hose fitting was moved outboard approximately 2 inches.

Looks like my 62 GT Hawk radiator will not work on Lazarus. Thanks for the information. I will be looking for a 55 c or k radiator.
