Question for the Avanti guru's (value/pricing)


What have recent '63 R2 A/T Avanti's gone for at auction/Ebay/sale?
Have a friend looking at one that is so-so.
Not running, interior needs work, drivers door sagging, incorrect engine number.
Ballpark ideas?

Just wondering what recent used, unrestored, Avanti's had gone for.

There was one discussed recently in Montana that went for $7000 if I remember correctly. I bought one for $11,000.

Jeff if its any indication I paid 7500 for this one owner, 64 R2 last year, 70K miles.
Needs paint and virtual everything mechanical done.

I paid $8,500 for my non-runner, but with excellent hog troughs. It had been stored in a garage for 35 years. Mileage was 44,000. Had to replace or renew most of everything except engine, tranny, and rear end. Have done most of the work myself with the exception of the carb rebuild, paint, and interior. I am all in for a bit over $33K. Great cruiser.

From that sad description (really - sad Avanti, not sad description), I would say $3500-$5000.

There is a 29K mile '63 R1 in Dec. TW for $4500.

In January, I bought a 1963 R2 four speed car that needed front seats, everything in the engine bay forward of the bare block (water manifold, supercharger, radiator, etc.), and brake work for $4K. The hog troughs were sound and the rest of the interior was usable.
