Hi
Art Fitzpatrick, teamed with Van Kaufman, created the marvelous advertising art for Pontiac from 1959-1971, the period of that Division's greatest popularity. Prior to that he had worked for various body and automakers including Packard. While did contributed to the design of the groundbreaking 1941 Clipper, he is best remembered for a design masterpiece. In 1938, at twenty years old, he went to work for Darrin in California, was tasked with interpreting the Packard Darrin convertible Victoria styling as a four door. The results became the 1940 Packard Custom Super Eight 180 Model 1807 sport sedan and convertible sedans by Darrin, absolute masterpieces of automotive design. RIP Art Fitzpatrick, you gave us a great design and art legacy, you'll always be remembered.
Steve
