Stude V8 in a '50?

My friend has a '50 Champ that he would like to put a Stude V8 and auto in. Has anyone out there done this? I've done scads of work on '51 and later cars, but the '50 is a different animal, and I haven't looked at it too close.
It is a project car, and he is trying to decide which route to go, if we have to, we'll rebuild the champ 6.

Sorry, it won't fit without a lot of work. You will have to mount the engine farther back to clear the steering in the front, which means you will have to cut the firewall to clear the back of the engine. I recommend you stick with the 6, or if you are not a purist you might try a 3.8L GM V6.
