  • Bullet noses in salvage yards

There were a surprising number of Bullet nose era cars in a couple of the salvage yard I visited recently.
I didn't spend much time looking them over but it was clear that they had escaped the crusher on purpose.
These are located in Northern WI, PM me if you are interested.
The 60's cars present were all 6 bangers & without PS. (caso)

I just saw one in a salvage yard in Alamogordo, N.M. yesterday when driving thru. Looked like they also had a 56 or 57 2 door sedan. I can stop by and get the particulars if anyone is interested. I used to race against the owner many years ago.

Is that the yard with the Hudson up on poles used as a sign?

Yes, the yard in Alamogordo had a car up on a pole. For some reason I thought it was a Packard.

If the bullet nose is a 1950 Commander with the spare tire well torched out and the instruments gone, it could be the same car I got the parts from in 1969. I remember thinking at the time, this car is way too nice to be in a junk yard.

I don't know if the bullet nose is a commander or champion or a 50/51 . It is a four door and is sitting in front of the office on the ground.

It might be a President. It has a similar two-tone trim on the side. I may be going back through there within two weeks and can check it out.
